Keep in mind that the summer months (July and August) can be hot and crowded, so if you prefer milder weather and a more relaxed atmosphere, spring and early autumn are usually the preferred choices.

In Spain, there are two ways to achieve legal marriage status: through a Catholic church or by both partners residing in Spain for at least two years.

Malaga Weddings specializes in symbolic ceremonies set in unique locations, so we do not arrange church weddings. Instead, we collaborate with professional celebrants who can conduct your ceremony in your preferred language. Alternatively, you can invite a friend or family member to craft a personal speech for your ceremony.

Regarding the legal process, our couples handle the necessary paperwork themselves and sign the official marriage certificate at their local city hall, typically just before or after their wedding in Spain. Some couples choose to legally marry several months in advance and have a small celebration with their closest guests in their home country.

We suggest two visits to Malaga or Mallorca. The initial visit involves a 1-2 day venue tour to view the selected venues firsthand and choose your wedding venue. The second visit includes a tasting meal to finalize your wedding menu and a hair & makeup trial for the bride(s).

Nevertheless, we are adaptable and cater to our couples’ requirements. In the past, we have organized video tours for couples unable to visit before the actual wedding day. Nonetheless, we encourage visiting and experiencing the locations in person.
